Dr. Erin Parker, media specialist at Lake Elementary and Beach Elementary, won a $1,000 Donors Choose gift certifcate to fund a STEM project in both schools.
The award was funded by the Chevron Pascagoula Refinery in partnership with the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce to recognize teachers at the elementary, middle or high school level who demonstrates STEM innovation and excellence through academic collaboration and student engagement.
Winners were announced at the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce's Annual Meeting held Oct. 22, 2019 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Pascagoula.
One winner from each of the four school districts in Jackson County were selected based on applications submitted by teachers.
